Tokyo 2021 Olympic men’s middleweight boxing favourites
Ukrainian boxer Alexander Khizhnyak is an odds-on favourite among middleweights. He is the champion of the previous European Games, 2017 AIBA World Boxing Championships and 2017 European Amateur Boxing Championships
Alexander has won 4 of the last 5 national championships. He is the absolute champion in the middleweight category among amateurs. Khizhnyak to win the Olympics is priced with the odds of 1.60 (-167 American; 8/5 Fractional). Chances are around 62.5%.
Gleb Bakshi, who will fight for Olympic athletes from Russia, is the second-placed favourite on the international betting sites. He is the current champion of the AIBA World Boxing Championships. Gleb is not a sure favourite, but he is the first candidate to beat Alexander Khizhnyak. Odds on Gleb Bakshi to sweep each of his opponents in the Olympic Games equal 4.00 (+300; 3/1), so his overall win has an approximate probability of 25%.
Philippine Jumir Martial, Kazakh Abilkhan Amankul and American Troy Isley are all placed third on the favourites list. Abilkhan is a finalist of the Asian Games and the AIBA World Boxing Championships. Jumir and Troy haven’t had the same results in the past, but they have participated in the AIBA World Boxing Championships. There are some chances for all three to reach the final and maybe pull off a surprise victory. Martial, Amankul and Isley come with the same odds of 8.00 (+700; 7/1). Chances are around 12.5%.

Tokyo 2021 Olympic men’s heavyweight boxing favourites
In spite of the fact that this category consists of the least number of participants, there is the largest number of almost even favourites here.
Russian Muslim Gadzhimagomedov is often named the main favourite of the heavyweight tournament, and an odds-on favourite too. Gadzhimagomedov is the current champion of the AIBA World Boxing Championships and the II European Games. Also, he was a finalist of the I European Games and finished second. He has won each national championship and is a candidate to repeat Evgeny Tischenko success in the previous Olympics. Muslim Gadzhimagomedov to repeat the Russian triumph comes with the odds of 1.60 (-167 American; 8/5 Fractional). Chances are around 62.5%.
Cuban Julio César La Cruz is the current Olympics champion, but in a light heavyweight. He has won the AIBA World Boxing Championships in the light heavyweight event 4 times and has championed the Panamerican Games 3 times. These results are persuasive. But now he performs in another category. Julio César La Cruz to win his second Olympic medal in a row is priced with the odds of 2.50 (+150; 5/2). Chances are around 40%.
Kazakh Vasily Levit should be ready to win this final after an unfortunate defeat in the final of the previous Olympics. He has won the Asian Amateur Boxing Championships 3 times and has once received silver and bronze medals. Also, Vasily has finished third in the AIBA World Boxing Championships twice. He is an experienced fighter and is well-motivated to win this Olympics after the previous result. Vasily Levit to win the 2020 Olympics is priced with the odds of 4.00 (+300; 3/1), which equals an approximate probability of 25%.
